Florine Patton Collins, 88, of Kerrville passed away on May 8, 2007 at a local care facility.Florine Patton was born January 13, 1919 in Weches, TX to Willie Adele Vaught Patton and William Grant Patton.After graduating from Crockett High School in 1936, she attended Sam Houston State Teachers College and received her degree in Business in 1940 at which time she entered the teaching profession. She related that it took the financial support of three families to allow her achievement of a college degree.On April 19, 1942, she married Lieutenant William Atmar Collins, Jr. in Crockett, TX. After the birth of their son in November 1943, she dedicated her life to raising her children and making a home for her family. She was proud to be called a homemaker. She was a courtier seamstress, with an eye for color and fabric. Patterns were merely a guide for her as she adapted them to produce her vision for the garment. She was also very informed regarding nutrition and organic foods. She fed her family meals made from scratch, and a large portion of her time was dedicated to the preparation of these nutritious and delicious meals.She was active in the Presbyterian Church, serving in many capacities over the years. She volunteered her time at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas and after their move to Kerrville, Mo Ranch.Florine Patton Collins does not have certificates and credentials owed upon her by worldly achievement standards. By word and deed, she was a weaver. With love, she wove the important parts of the fabric of all the lives she touched until her passing. She was a loving and generous person and will be sorely missed by her friends and family.She is preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Collins, Jr. She is survived by her son, daughter, soninlaw, and several nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church in Ingram with Pastor Ray Tear officiating.
