Florence Perry

Florence Grundy Holt Perry, 93, of Kerrville, Texas entered into rest May 31, 2005 at a local care facility.Mrs. Perry was born August 23, 1911 in Terry County, on the Lumsden Ranch, between Brownfield and Tahoka, to Charles and Nancy Holt, the youngest of 7 children. David Perry and Florence Holt were in the same class in school and also at church, and were married on February 20, 1931 in the Methodist parsonage in Brownfield. Florence spent several years volunteering at the Kerrville State Hospital and received medals for 2200 hours of service. She also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville where she kept busy teaching the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade Sunday school departments, serving on the Christian Education Committee, and various other jobs. She spent many years sewing clothes for needy children, and working on quilts with the womens sewing group.She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, and her husband.She is survived by nieces and nephews, numerous friends, and her church family.Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Saturday, June 4, 2005 at the Schreiner Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Buran Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. ation will be 68:00pm, Friday, June 3, 2005 at Kerrville Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville.
