Ferris Mayfield

Ferris J., F.J., Mayfield, age 87, of Center Point, Texas , passed away Monday, January 20, 2003 at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital in Kerrville, Texas. He was born April 18, 1915 in Harris County Texas, near Humble, to Ferris Mayfield and Gertrude Ferrell Mayfield. Mr. Mayfield has been a resident of the Center Point area since June of 1987, having previously lived in Houston, Pasadena, Kingsland, Burnet and Fort Stockton, Texas. Mr. Mayfield is preceded in death by his sister and brotherinlaw Maurine Louise and Cecil Walter Holly Holliman. He was a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the Texas Rifle Association, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.Mr. Mayfield served in the United States Navy during WWII having spent 3 12 years of active duty on the U.S.S. Trion in the Pacific Theatre.F.J. was Married to Minnie Louise Forester on August 30, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. They celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary in August 2002.He is survived by his wife Minnie of Center Point, a son, Jeffrey Paul Mayfield and wife Kimberlea of Blanco, Texas two grandchildren, Staton and Rains Mayfield both of Blanco, Texas brother Ferrell P. Mayfield and wife Elba of Tomball, Texas 4 nephews, 5 nieces, and numerous grand nephews and grand nieces.Memorial contributions may be made to the Center Point United Methodist Chruch, P.O.
