Eugene Yanda

KERRVILLE Eugene Gene F. Yanda, 90, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at a local hospital. Gene was born on February 3, 1924 to George C. and Isabell Bowers in Wheeling West Virginia. He was adopted by George W. Yanda at the age of 16. He and Beverly Schmidt Brown were married on August 15, 1988.

Gene was a Boy Scout leader in Cuyahoga Falls Troop 160 for 25 years and continued supporting the same troop 25 more years. He was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Masonic Lodge No.735 A.F. A.M. for 62 years the Valley of Akron Scottish Rite for 30 years and also the Kerrville Masonic Lodge No. 697 A.F. A.M.

Gene never met a stranger, and always wanted to leave everyone with a smile. When he introduced himself he would say Im Gene, Gene the dancing machine.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, stepfather and his first wife, Jean.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his wife, Beverly Yanda of Kerrville, Texas daughter, Kelly Sponsellor of Lafayette, California son, Richard Yanda of Los Gatos, California stepdaughter, Vickory Sutton stepsons, James Brown and Tyler Brown one granddaughter six grandsons and one great granddaughter. Gene will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial ation will be held 57 PM, Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, Texas.

Memorial Services will be held 1 PM, Monday, February 24, 2014 at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 320 St. Peters Street, Kerrville, Texas with the Rev. Stockton Williams officiating.
