Eugene Wait

SAN ANTONIO Eugene Gene M. Wait, 76, of Kerrville, Texas, passed from this life on Monday, February 18, 2013 in a San Antonio, Texas care center. Born on July 13, 1936 in Longview, Texas to parents, Eugene and Virginia Rice Wait, he was one of four children they were blessed with.

Mr. Wait graduated from Tivy High School in 1954, and earned his Associates Degree from Schreiner Institute now Schreiner University in 1956. He furthered his education at The University of Texas in Austin, Texas and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1958. After serving his country in the United States Army 69th Signal Battalion, Mr. Wait returned to The University of Texas where he earned his Masters Degree in 1962. He was accomplished writer and published his first of numerous history books in 1972.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to honor and cherish his memories are his brothers, Henry Joseph Wait of New Braunfels, Texas, and Jack Rice Wait of Kerrville, Texas his sister, Susan Gay Wait of Kerrville, Texas nephew, Kevin Joseph Wait of Silver Spring, Maryland niece, Heather Marie Reynolds of Lexington, Kentucky, along with a host of loving friends and neighbors.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, Texas with the Rev. David Edwards officiating.

Memorial remembrances can be made to the charity of ones choice.
