Eugene Calvert Smith, 88, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his home in Kerrville. Eugene was born in San Antonio, TX on May 18, 1928 to Joseph T. Smith and Willodene (Watkins) Smith.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; Esther Robards Smith; second wife; JoAnn (Inky) Dutton Smith; parents, Joseph and Willodene Smith; sister, Martha Kate Smith Hahn and son, Eugene Calvert Smith Jr.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include brothers, Joseph T. Smith and wife Carolyn and James W. Smith and wife Virginia Sue; brother-in law, Warren Hahn; children, Laura Smith Miller, Melinda Smith Sidora and husband Gregory, Ralph Robards Smith, Logan Douglas Smith, Bennett Page Smith and Scott Watkins Smith and wife Carol Zengel ; step daughters, Kim Kulpa and husband Barry, Alison Gamble and husband Mike; grandchildren, Marley Miller Morris, Amy Renee Sidora, Charles Christian Miller, Kevin Scott Sidora, Chance Matthew Miller, Carrie Miller Dunbar, Morgan Scott Smith, Logan Douglas Smith Jr, Scott Gamble; five great- grandchildren, and a host of friends and neighbors that will miss him dearly.

A Visitation and time of reflection will take place Saturday September 10, 2016 from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Hwy. Kerrville, TX 78028. A Celebration of Life Service will follow in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home.
