Esther Crittenden

KERRVILLE Esther J. Crittenden, 91, passed from this life to spend an eternity with her Lord and Savior on May 10, 2012 at a local care center in Kerrville, TX. She was born on August 13, 1920, in Centralia, IL, to Glen and Bonnie Phillips Duncan.

On October 4, 1937, Esther Duncan married William A. Crittenden. After many years making Venezuela their home, the two moved to Kerrville in 1959, where they owned and operated the Lazy Hill Guest Ranch. They then moved on in the business world and owned WAC Distributing for 26 years.

Esther was an avid game player, and a Life Master in bridge. She was a wonderful baker who was well known for her homemade bread, cookies, and flan. She always loved for family and friends to be around her, whether it was for a simple visit or a special gathering. Her family was the biggest joy and most important thing in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents sisters, Doris Williamson and Glenna Vieth husband, William A. Crittenden and granddaughter, Robin J. Glynn.

Mrs. Crittenden is survived by her son, William A. Crittenden, Jr. and wife Cathy with their children, James, Sara and husband Jason Evans, Jonathan, and Mary daughter, Sara Coppedge and husband Steve with Saras children, Bonnie and husband Matthew Broussard greatgrandchildren, William T. Glynn, Casey C. Glynn, Robin Broussard, and Esther Marie Evans, along with a host of many loving relatives, friends, and church family.

Funeral Services will be held in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028 on Monday, May 14, 2012, at 10 AM with Pastor Chris McKnight of Kerrville Bible Church officiating. She will be laid to rest immediately following services in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX.
