KERRVILLE Eloise Honey Merritt Stovall, 92, beloved mother, wife, sister and grandmother, went to her eternal rest on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at a local care facility. Born on June 26, 1919, in Skidmore, Texas, she was the daughter of Isaac Merritt and Nancy Ellen Kendall Merritt.
Honey was a 1936 Tivy graduate. She married R.C. Bob Stovall, the love of her life, in May of 1953 in Kerrville, Texas. She and Bob spent 20 years in Colorado, where they owned operated a guide service and outfitters business. She could saddle a horse or pack on for hunting trips into the mountains as well as the men. She was an excellent shot and killed a couple of bear while living in Colorado. She was capable of doing anything and everything possible to get the job done.
Honey and Bob loved to dance and belonged to a dance club in the late 50s. They also belonged to a boat club that helped clear out the Guadalupe river bed, prior to the dam being built.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Imogene Morrison and Billie Nugent, and a soninlaw, Paul Janice.
Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her son, Button Forehand of Bluffton daughter, Gaye Janice, of Ingram one nephew, Skip Trammell and wife Nedra of Idalou: niece, Nan White and husband Jeff of Frisco. She was also blessed with 4 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren, 2 greatgreatgrandchildren, along with a host of loving friends and neighbors.
A quotCelebration of Lifequot will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028. Don Sessom will officiate.
