Great Granddaughter of Mother of Texas dies in Center Point, TexasCenter Point Ella Mae Taliaferro, 91, died at home with her daughter by her side, on Monday, March 31, 2008.Born in McGregor, TX on May 1, 1916, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Redding and Chamilla Smith Turner. She was the great granddaughter of Texas Pioneer Mrs. Rebecca J. Fisher, The Mother of Texas and the last woman to see Texas under the Mexican flag.Mrs. Taliaferro was predeceased by one brother, C.R. Turner, JR, and his wife, Vivian.Family members include her one son, John P. Neece III of Southaven, MS her one daughter, Camilla Sunny Neece Pawlik of Center Point her grandchildren, Jack Britain McCoy and his wife, Janice, of Austin, Todd Patrick McCoy and his wife, Jennifer, of Fredericksburg, John P. Neece, IV, and his wife Laura, of Rockton, IL, and Luci Ellen Smith and husband Dee, of Round Rock eight great grandchildren and a nephew, C.R. Turner, JR and his wife Cathy, of Dallas.There is no visitation.Graveside services will be held in Oakwood Cemetery in the Turner family lot on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 1:30PM.The family asks that in lieu of floral arrangements, monetary donations be made to the Kathleen C. Cailloux Humane Society 2900 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX.
