Kerrville Elinor E. Marsh Ross, MD, 91, of Kerrville, passed from this life at a local health care facility on Monday, June 14, 2010.
Born in Omaha, NE, on April 20, 1919, she was the daughter of Frederick Ernest and Elinor Vivian Lloyd Marsh. She had been a resident of Kerrville for the past 26 years, residing in Vicksburg Village. In April of 2010, she moved into Plaza On The River.
Mrs. Ross was a physician for over 40 years, retiring in 1983, after having family practices in Coucil Bluffs, Iowa and McAllen, TX. She was a member of the AMA, the DAMA, TMA, and the Schriener Oaks Society. She was also instrumental with the building of the Mountaineer Fitness Center on campus at Schriener University.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville.
Mrs. Ross loved music, going to the symphony and gardening. One of her big passions was art.
She was a big Nebraska Corn Huskers fan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Ross, who passed in August of 2004, her parents, and many other family members.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her son, R. Thomas Ross, and his wife, Laura, of San Antonio, TX her daughter, Marsha RossBurnham, and her husband, Clayton, of McAllen, TX granddaughter, Lauren Belen Swendson Ross of San Antonio, TX her sister, Sue Marsh Simmons of Council Bluffs, IA nephews, Mark, Paul and Tom Larkin, and many other family and friends.
Open visitation will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from Noon5PM.
A celebration of Mrs. Rosss life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville, Jefferson St, on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 3:00PM with Pastor Rob Lohmeyer, officiating. Private committal services will be held at Garden of Memories in Kerrville.
The family suggest that donations in her name be made to the Schriener University, Office of Advancement, 2100 Memorial Blvd, Kerrville, TX 78028.
