Eleanor Cooksey gently passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Saturday morning, April 27, 2019 at the age of 91.
She was born June 3, 1927 in East Springfield, Pennsylvania to Louise and Nick Vacco. She attended Life Bible College in Los Angeles, California where she met and married George Cooksey in 1947. She served Christ her entire life in the Foursquare Gospel Church with her beloved husband. They pastored several churches during 40 years of ministry including the Foursquare Church in Raymondville, Texas for 20 years. They then retired and moved to Kerrville in 1987.
An ever compassionate mother and wife, she will be missed by her surviving children: Sandra and husband Jeff Middlebrook, Susan and husband Jack Lanfair, and Jonathan Cooksey and wife Cynthia. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Richard Ingram and wife Amy, Elizabeth and husband Ken Blatchley, David Lanfair and wife Sylvia, and Deborah Lanfair and great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Warren, and Amelia Lanfair.
She was preceded in death by her husband George.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 4 at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Memorial sevices will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday May 11, 2019 at the Kerrville Foursquare Gospel Church located at 915 Bluebell Rd.
