Edward Henry, Jr.

Edward Paul Henry, Jr. of Kerrville, Texas in passed away February 23, 2015 in San Antonio, TX as a result of injuries sustained in a fall. He was 84.

Ed was born to Edward P., Sr. and Veva Henry on May 2, 1930 in Kinsley, KS and he graduated from high school in Salina, KS. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951 and served until 1955. He married Norma Jean Henry on June 30, 1958. His career in business spanned more than 40 years and included employers Boeing Aircraft, Champlin Petroleum, and BASF Corp. Ed got caught up in the running craze of the 80's and competed in several marathons around the state of Texas. Family vacations were spent in the Colorado Rockies where he enjoyed fishing and hiking. Ed and Jean spent their early retirement years RVing throughout the US but they spent most of their time in the U.S. and Canadian Rockies. After Jean's death, Ed spent time with friends playing bridge and walking at Elm Creek Park.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, who died on September 2, 2007.

Ed is survived by a brother, Jim and wife Nancy, of West Plains, MO; a sister, Millie Lewis, of Owens Crossroads, AL; a son, David, his daughter-in-law, Kathie, and two grandsons, Joel and Carson, all of Raleigh, NC.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas 78028 on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2 PM. The service will be hosted by Ed's son, David, and David's wife, Kathie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Dietert Meals on Wheels.
