KERRVILLE Edna Noah, 87, passed from this life at a local care facility on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011.

She was born Edna Catherine Robinson on Sept. 9, 1924, to Frank Hill and Edna Pear Robinson of Clemson College, S.C. Although born on Sept. 9, Ednas birth was incorrectly recorded 10 days later as Sept. 19, 1924.

In her early years, Edna worked as a bookkeeper in a cotton gin. Later she became a junior high school homemaking teacher. She went back to school to obtain a degree in dietetics, after which she began work at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kerrville. She was a longtime employee there. Upon retirement from the V.A., she took a parttime position as one of the dietitians with Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital.

Her interest included square dancing in the Hill Country Promenaders with her husband, Harvey. She also enjoyed collecting antique dolls and bears and was a member of the Kerrville Doll Club. She was a member and regular attendee of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Kerrville.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Welch Baldwin and husband, Conner her son, Robin Welch and her stepson, Harvey A. Rusty Noah. She was the proud grandmother of Noelle Baldwin Neely and Greg Baldwin, Christie Thomason, Amber Noah and Chonte Noah. She also was a greatgrandmother of Lorelei Faith Neely. She also is survived by her brother, Frank Robinson and his wife, Eloise, along with Franks daughter, Karen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jessie Bankston and Pearl Knauf. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey R. Noah, and the childrens father, John Thomas Welch.


The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Heart Choices Care Management, ing Angels, her neighbors on Mount Wesley, Plaza on the River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the many nurses, aides and care givers that have given such loving care.

Graveside services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, with the Rev. Jay Dozier of First Christian Church officiating.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at First Christian Church, 1900 Goat Creek Parkway, Kerrville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in honor of Mrs. Noah to Heart Choices Care Management, P.O. Box 291104, Kerrville, TX 78029, or to First Christian Church, 1900 Goat Creek Parkway, Kerrville, TX 78028
