WEBSTER Edith Louise Howarth, 72, of League City, Texas passed from this life on March 20, 2014 at a hospital in Webster, Texas. Edith was born January 12, 1942 in Austin, Texas to Merlin and Alice May Kelly Tucker. Edith grew up in the Hunt, Texas area with her three brothers and three sisters.
Family was something to honor and cherish for her, and she never stopped loving. On October 6, 1961, she married the love of her life, family friend, Dale Howarth, with whom she shared their three children, Tammy, Jacky, and Sheri. Road trips to visit family were a ritual. The gatherings always included singing and dancing. Fishing and camping was a continued hobby for the immediate family. Edie and Dale were married until death do us part, when he predeceased her in 1989.
Her son holds all of the stories of her love for her 15 nieces and nephews. Her friend was her sisterinlaw, Doris Tucker. She loved scary and western movies. For the twenty plus years following Dales death, Edith defeated cancer 3 times. She spent those years with her daughter, Sheri, and lastly with her son Jacky in League City, and of course with her wonderful grandchildren. They all had a song and a nickname, and will never forget her name, Mema.
Go rest high on that mountain Mom, your work on earth is done.
Thank you for borrowed time Jesus. You now truly have my heart Son
