Duane Praschak

KERRVILLE - Duane Arthur Praschak, 84, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on May 5, 2016 at a local hospital.

Duane was born February 27, 1932 to the late Henry and Emma (DeSmith) Praschak in Colenwood City, WI. He married, Patricia Boge, November 30, 1968, in Marshfield, WI; she preceded him in death September 9, 1991.

Duane became a drummer when Santa Claus brought him a set in 1976. He played in various combos through the years in Texas and St. Mary's, KS. Duane loved playing at the senior citizen dances at the Dietert Center. He loved to ballroom dance as much as drumming, so when he wasn't behind the drums, he was out on the floor cutting a rug. Duane was very much into healthy living and would share his knowledge with anyone who would listen. Travel was high on his list as well as puttering in the yard and helping others in any way. Duane had a generous heart and a sense of humor; he fought for what was right and didn't answer to anybody. He was a long time member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.

Those left to honor his memory include daughters, Diane Vaughn and husband, David of Kerrville; Amy Kubin and husband, John of Delta, CO; and grandchildren Evan Vaughn, of Katy, TX, Brian, Nicholas, Stephen, Anna and Eric Kubin all of Delta, CO.

A Rosary will be held at 9:30 am, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 with services following at 10:00 am at Kerrville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories.
