KERRVILLE Dr. W. Robert Stobbe, M.D., 87, of Kerrville, TX passed away peacefully on February 4, 2013 in Kerrville, TX.
He was born June 22, 1925 in McKenzie, TN, the son of William Ralph Stobbe and Martha Hamilton Stobbe.

Dr. Stobbe served courageously in the United States Army in WWII as a surgical technician. For many years he operated a dairy farm before entering medical school. He relieved his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine in Memphis, TN in 1960. He completed his residency in psychiatry and had a private practice and teaching position in Houston, Texas. In 1973, he and his wife Grace moved to Kerrville for Dr. Stobbe to be a staff psychiatrist at Kerrville State Hospital, until he retired in 1983.

Dr. Stobbe, Bob, had a passion for model trains for most of his life. He made most of his model trains by hand, detailing them to perfection. His train setup was enjoyed by many other hobbyists and is being displayed in the Texas Transportation Museum in San Antonio, TX. He also enjoyed writing articles for the model train magazines.

Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace Mary Stobbe in 1998 and his stepdaughter, Sandra Malicote in 2009.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Leslie Malicote of Fallbrook, CA.

He will be remembered, loved, and missed dearly by everyone whose life he touched.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in the Chapel of Plaza on the River. Dr. Stobbe will be laid to rest by his wife at Brookside Memorial Park, Houston, TX.
