KERRVILLE Dr. Paul G. Boren went to be with our Lord after passing at his home in Kerrville, Texas on January 14, 2014. He was born December 8, 1929 to Fannie Goodwyn Percy Boren, and John Darrell Boren the first Church of Christ minister to be a chaplain in the U. S. Army.

Dr. Boren graduated from high school and went to work as a firefighter in Oklahoma. Later he entered into the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. While in San Antonio, he met his wife of 59 years, Winifred Winnie Boren. Becoming a medic while serving in the military. The military doctors noticed his passion for medicine and encouraged him to study to become a doctor when his tour of duty was complete.

Dr. Boren studied at Oklahoma University, and completed his medical residency at Methodist Hospital, Dallas, Texas. He opened his private practice in Dallas, from which he retired and relocated to Kerrville, Texas. He accepted an opportunity to serve as part of the medical staff at the VA Hospital located in Kerrville, and after many years of service there, he once again retired.

Dr. Boren was a loving husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather, uncle and friend. He was a faithful member of the Riverside Church of Christ.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory his wife, Winnie Boren his son and daughterinlaw, Clifford and Carol Boren of Kerrville, Texas granddaughter and spouse, Melissa and Jason Tipton of Merkel, Texas 8 year old great grandson, Ryder Lee Tipton of Merkel, Texas grandson, Jeffrey Paul Boren of Kerrville, Texas his brother Maxie Boren Church of Christ minister and sisterinlaw, Fran Boren of Fort Worth, Texas brother, Jodie Lee Boren, and sisterinlaw Peggy Boren of Missouri. There are also many nieces and nephews, as well as his longtime friend and blood brother, Dr. Tom Nicklas, and his wife, Suzanne.


ation and a time of reflection will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 5 7 PM, at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas 78028. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, 1 PM at Riverside Church of Christ, 625 Harper Road, Kerrville, Texas 78028, officiated by ministers Jacob Hawk and Maxie Boren. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, Texas.
