Kerrville Dorothy Ann Jarvis of Kerrville, Texas, died peacefully at home in Kerrville on Thursday, February 6, 2004. Ann was born on December 11, 1911 in Welch, Louisiana to Claude Ryerson and Anna Anderson Switzer. She grew up in LaPorte, Texas, and studied voice in New York, where she met her beloved husband, Jim Jarvis. Upon returning to the Houston area, she performed in musical theatre and as soprano soloist in several large churches. Ann had a long career as a draftsman at WKM and ContinentalEmsco. Upon retirement, she moved to The Wilderness and became an active member of that community, as well as First Presbyterian and the broader Kerrville community. She was a good friend to many. Mrs. Jarvis is preceded in death by her husband Jim Jarvis and her brotherinlaw Albert Milikien,She is survived by her sister, Margaret Switzer Milikien a niece, Margaret Crosby and husband Uel, and six greatnieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, February 9, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville, Texas with the Rev. Rob Lohmeyer and Chuck Kimball officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Peterson Hospice, or the charity of ones choice.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
