Dorothy Buchanan

KERRVILLE Dorothy Lee Buchanan, 82, passed from this life on Monday, December 9, 2013 at a local care center. Mrs. Buchanan was born on April 26, 1931 to Harvey and Thelma Miers Everett. She grew up in the Round MountainJohnson City area of Texas. Dorothy married John Kenneth Buchanan in Johnson City on June 15, 2002.

She loved to cook, as well as embroidering, and gardening. She was known to be plain spoken, never having to wonder what was on her mind or how she felt about the subject at hand.

Above all of her wonderful traits, she was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a charter member of Johnson City Pentecostal Church in 1957. It would later grow and change its name to the H.O.M.E. Church, and Mrs. Buchanan remained a faithful member along with membership at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Mrs. Buchanan is preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her husband, John Kenneth Buchanan of Kerrville, Texas brother, Wayne Everett and wife Dorothy of Uvalde, Texas nephew, Larry Everett of Kingsland, Texas niece, Christi Everett of Marble Falls, Texas along with many beloved cousins, and a large and loving church family.

Memorials in Mr. Buchanans honor can be made to Calvary Pentecostal Church, 1015 hip Lane, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.

A time of ation and reflection will be held from 5 7 PM, Friday, December 13, 2013 at Kerrville Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mrs. Buchanan will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10 AM in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas 78028 with the Rev. Don Steadman officiating. Interment will follow 2 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
