Doris Goss

Kerrville Doris Lucille Griffin Goss, 85, of Kerrville, Texas, left for the Kingdom of God on Monday, December 9, 2013.

Doris was born on August 11, 1928 to Walter Griffin and Sarah Elizabeth Hardcastle in Hunt, Texas. She was the twelfth of thirteen children. At Tivy High School, Doris met James B. Goss. She often said: she could not remember when the line between friendship blurred, and she knew she was in love. They married on December 19, 1944 in Boerne Texas, Kendall County, and remained happily married until James passed in 1988. Doris was the office manager for their family business Goss Construction for a number of years. Together, James and Doris had three children, seven grandchildren, and eleven greatgrandchildren. Doris and James raised their family in the United Methodist Church in Kerrville Texas. She enjoyed her family and friends. She took several trips and cruises. She was a member of Rotary and enjoyed life.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, twelve siblings and her husband.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory are her three children Barbara Johnston and her husband Frank, James Goss and his wife Nancy and Shirley Foster seven grandchildren, David Goss, Shawn Goss and his wife Tonya, Cody Goss and his wife Kim, Jennifer McGrath and her husband Jeff, Amanda Hill, Ribbon Hollis and her husband Von and Bryan Foster. She is also survived by eleven greatgrandchildren, many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 13, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Dr. Kerrville, Texas. 78028. Interment will follow at the BrownGoss Cemetery on Spur 100 in Kerrville, Texas. ation will be 68 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Kerrville Funeral Home.
