Donna Harrison

Kerrville Donna Blisard Harrison, 85, of Kerrville, passed from this life into the arms of God at her home, on Monday, November 15, 2010, surrounded by her true love, Arch, her children and her devoted Yorkie, quotMister Baileyquot.

Born on August 10, 1925 in Waco, TX, she was the daughter of the late George C. and Orada Jones Blisard.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her mothering was not confined to her own children, but to all the quotbonusquot children she helped to raise in her own special way. Hers was unconditional, sacrificial love that she gave so freely.

It was only 10 years ago that Donna met Arch Harrison at a high school reunion. It didnt take long for them to decide to marry and create a life together. The love they shared made her final 10 years magical. Many a day was spent sitting on the front porch glider on Golf Ave looking at the golfers, watching the birds, deer and other wildlife as if God created it all for their amusement. Arch with his arm around her, kept a smile on her face these last ten years.

We will all miss her terribly, and wait for the day when we are all together again, with hope and faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Barbara and a grandchild, Kris Roach Beal.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband, Archie O. Harrison her children, Kathryn Anne Self, John Anderson Self, III and his wife Sharon, James Lawrence Self and his wife, Priscilla, Donna Self Mahrenholz, Martha Dolores Self and husband, Leroy, and Sharon Harrison Roach 11 grandchildren, Donna Dolores Whitney, Kelly Lynne Whitney, Trisha Pulido, Angela Maria Self, Kristen Ann Hobby, Candice Lee Gilmore, Jamie Michelle Self, Jennifer Alice Self, Andrew Curtis Mahrenholz, Mark Ryan Bartz, Samantha Maria Bartz, Alexandra Self and Dianna Lynn Roach 3 great grandchildren, Trent Dillon Hobby, Kayla Rae Mahrenholz and Annalisa Maria Self four nieces and a nephew.

A celebration of her life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Kerrville on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 11:00AM
