Donald Bidell

KERRVILLE - Donald E. Bidell, 87, of Kerrville, TX died peacefully at his home on Friday, November 27, 2015. Don was born April 10, 1928 in Buffalo, NY.

With a lifelong interest in aviation, Don received his private pilot's license at the age of 16. After his honorable service with the United States Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant during the Korean Conflict, where he was wounded twice, he returned to Buffalo, NY. After seven years of night school with a young family at home, Don received his B.S. in Business from the University of Buffalo.

He then began a long career with Foster Wheeler AG as an international sales manager, which sent him around the world in connection with the construction of power generation facilities. Don retired in 1988 and in his spare time he enjoyed travel, bird watching and the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

He is preceded in death by his son, Lawrence.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Cherie A. Bidell; sister, Joanne Woods; daughter, Barbara (Charles) Watkins; son, Donald G. Bidell; grandchildren, Olivia, Michael, Nora, and Spencer; along with his wife's children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Don's life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Unity Church, 1016 Jefferson Street, Kerrville, TX 78028.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to the VA Hospital of Kerrville or HCM Hospice of Fredericksburg.
