Diane Jonason

KERRVILLE Diane Jonason, 76, of Kerrville, Texas went home to be with her lord on Monday, May 12, 2014.

Diane was born October 10, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Claude Briney and Alyce Steen. She grew up in Rochelle, Illinois and graduated from Rochelle Township High School. Not long after, Diane attended Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. Diane spent many years working for United Airlines in San Francisco, California, Del Monte Corporation in Rochelle, Illinois and Burlington Northern Railroad in Rochelle, Illinois.

Diane moved to Kerrville in 2005 and was an active member of the community. Diane was active in the Kerrville Elks Lodge as scholarship chairman and treasurer to the sweet heart program. Diane spent many hours coordinating and implementing Elks scholarships as well as the sweet heart program. Diane was active in the Kerrville Art club and loved painting. She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxillary and spent countless hours supporting all branches of the military.

Diane is preceeded in death by her parents, Claude and Alyce Briney husband, Mark Jonason daughters, Sabrina Jonason Bradshaw and Jeanne Anne and grandson, Stephen Bradshaw.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her long time companion, Tom Ives of Kerrville son, SGM Alan C. Jonason, U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas daughter in law, Debrah Miceli granddaughters, Raechel Brashaw, Katherine Ann Bradshaw and Zoey Bradshaw grandsons, SPC Jona Bradshaw, U.S. Army stained at Ft. Bliss, Oklahoma, Zach Bradshaw, Connor Jonason and Cory Jonason, as well her grandson, Maxton Barrow.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Kerrville Elks Lodge at 12 PM, Thursday, May 15, 2014.
In lieu of floral tributes, the family asks that all donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
