Dennis Michael Achilli

Dennis Michael Achilli, age 80, shuffled off this mortal coil 6/25/24 at 6:25 pm after a short hospital stay in Kerrville, TX, the Hill Country town he loved.

Dennis was born January 5, 1944 to Robert Victor Achilli and Clara Bovi Achilli in Rockford, IL. His childhood was spent in Rockford with his loving parents, two spirited brothers, and lots of extended family including nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Dennis is survived by three beloved sons, Justin, Lincoln and Reade, and by their mother, Raye Achilli. He is also survived by his long time partner, Nitia Morris and her daughter, Audra. Dennis was blessed with three precious grandchildren, Phoenix (aka Bug), Julianna (aka Jules), and Victor (aka Goose). 

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, Bobby and younger brother, Mark. 

From an early age, Dennis was fascinated with motorcycles and went on to race in his younger days. He later rode scenic motorcycle roads all over Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado with like-minded friends into his late 60's. Dennis was also a talented artist. His first art award came when he was in elementary school. He attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL studying art history. Dennis was a proud Vietnam Era veteran serving in the Navy from 1962-1968. He served as a dental technician in the Navy and used that knowledge throughout his career. 

Dennis loved to make people laugh, cook Italian food for his family, and was a great friend who will be dearly missed. He could be a prankster as well, earning him the nickname Mr. Naughty. True to his love of all things Sinatra, Dennis lived his life his way. 

 No formal services are planned at this time.
