Davidina Wilkie

KERRVILLE Davidina Ina L. Wilkie, 88, passed from this life Friday, March 25, 2011.

Ina was born June 8, 1922, in Everett, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Matthew and Vina Love from Edinburgh, Scotland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Wilkie, in 1991.

Ina is survived by two daughters, Jill Jerry Sijansky of Corpus Christi, and Janyth Wesley Platts, of Kerrville, and a stepdaughter, Susan Mizell of Cleveland, TX. Ina was also the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, Wayne Jane Sijansky of LaVernia, Nancy Wilks of New York City, Laurie Raymond Kite of LaVernia, Gerilyn Matthew Donnell of Corpus Christi, David Herron of San Francisco, California, and a stepgranddaughter, Kaitlynn Mizell of Cleveland. Ina is also survived by ten greatgrandchildren and three greatgreat grandchildren.

Ina and Ed traveled worldwide as long as their health would allow. They made their home in Utapow, Thailand, for three years while Ed was serving as Supply Officer for the Army Civil Service and Ina also served as a Supply Clerk. They both retired from Civil Service in Corpus Christi and enjoyed making that their home base.

After Eds death, Ina moved to Biloxi, Mississippi, to be closer to her daughter and her family. They moved to Kerrville in 2006 following Hurricane Katrina where she made her home at Sterling House.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Sterling House for the superb care, love, and attention they gave Ina during her time there and Vista Care Hospice for the outstanding support during her final days.

As per Inas wishes, there is no service planned.
