David Anthony Werner passed from this life Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his home in Kerrville, Texas.
David was born October 17, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Herbert and Lela Marburger Werner. He graduated from Highland High School and attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio. David enlisted in the United States Army September 1968 and served in Vietnam with the 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry, Armored Reconnaissance and was honorably discharged in 1969. After returning from the war, he worked at Gruen-Mueller/Flasher Equipment until 1979.
David married Julia Carter on February 22, 1975. In 1979, they moved to Eden, Texas where he worked with the Carter family ranch. In 1984, the family moved to San Angelo, Texas where David began his career in construction, remodeling and finish carpentry and continued to perfect his craft until he ''retired'' in 2009 then continued working full-time on his and Julia's house to make it into the beautiful home it is now.
David grew up fishing the Texas coast with his father & continued the tradition with his own family. He had a passion for cooking and grilling and his many creations will be missed. David's many skills and talents were always used to benefit his family and friends. He was very proud of his children & grandchildren and spent every moment he could with them.
David is survived by his wife Julia, of 42 years. Daughter, Christie Anglin, Sons, Michael Anglin and David K. Werner. His grandchildren, Justin Anglin, Kenzi & Grayson Werner, Zachary Harder, Fisher Werner, Kiera Anglin, Erich Brockhaus, Bailee Boggess and Katelyn Boggess, his brother Keith Werner, sister Elizabeth Praeger, and proceeded in death by his brother Bruce Werner.
The family was by his side at the end, he smiled & went in peace. ''This is a wonderful world.''
A Visitation and time of reflection will be held on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Hwy. Kerrville, TX from 6-8PM.
Funeral Services will take place at 10 AM on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Kerrville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
