David L. Vetter, 80, of Ingram, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007, in Kerrville at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital.He is survived by Ruth Atkinson Vetter, his wife of 59 years.The Vetters have four children: Donna Cosgrove, Michael Vetter Jeanette, Bob Vetter Leann and Patti Goforth Jim. There are numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his sister, Ione Rhodes Dusty.Preceding him in death was his mother, Esther Barremore and a sister, Julia Anne Mueller.He was a veteran of World War II, serving the U.S. Navy, after which he attended the University of Houston on the G.I. Bill. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1981.Mr. Vetter was a lifelong active member of the Methodist Church, first in Houston at Park Place, then in Hunt. He was very involved in community activities, including Faculty of Ingram Independent School District, West Kerr Chamber of Commerce and Hill Country Cowboy Camp Meeting, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Band Boosters and sports fan.Many young people in the KerrvilleIngramHunt area knew him affectionately as PawPaw.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Hunt United Methodist Church.Memorials may be sent to Junction House, which is a new mental health dropin center for information, call Pam Cann at 3675350 or to the charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
