David Meador

David Charles Meador, 86, of Kerrville, TX, passed from this life to be joined with his Lord and Savior, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family. David was born on July 27, 1932 to Clarence Nelson Meador and Mary Edna (Clay) Meador in Corpus Christi, TX.

David enlisted in the military November of 1955. Shortly, thereafter he met the love of his life Carol Mary Beuttel. David and Carol were married May 18, 1957 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He served in the United States Navy for four years and upon discharge worked as an Airline Captain, flying the skies with Continental Airlines for 25 years.

In 1979, David and Carol moved to Alamo, TX where David had a citrus grove, growing oranges and grapefruits. In 1993, David and Carol moved to the Hill Country and called Kerrville, TX home.

David found his love for traveling on a Heart of Europe bus tour with his wife which led them to travel all over the United States.
David was a jack of all trades who enjoyed working in his shop and building engines. He was a wonderful loving husband, dedicated father and Godly man. A member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church for 25 years. He was happiest when he was surrounded by family.

David was preceded in death by his parents; Clarence Meador and Edna Meador Harlan, and sisters; Charlene and Marilyn Meador.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his loving wife; Carol Mary Meador, son; David N. Meador of Kerrville, TX, daughter Barbara Watson of Kyle, TX, grandsons; James Watson of Kyle, TX and Michael (Amy) Meador of Killeen, TX, grand-daughters; Katie (Matt) Ortiz of Katy, TX and Melanie Watson of Kyle, TX, seven great-grandchildren; Donavan, Devon Makaylah, Avery, Kallie, Macie and Kinleigh and one nephew Rich Petty.

A heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Peterson Hospice for their compassion and care.

In lieu of floral contributions, donations may be made to Peterson Hospice.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 1:30 PM, Monday, September 17, 2018 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 909 Main Street, Kerrville, TX 78028.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 PM, Monday, September 17, 2018 at Notre Dame Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Garden of Memories, 3250 Fredericksburg Road, Kerrville, TX.
