San Antonio David R. McMillan, 81, of Kerrville, passed from this life at a San Antonio hospital on Sunday, April 3, 2011.

Born on September 27, 1929 in Fresno, CA, he was the son of David R. and Lorraine Bainbridge McMillan, and spent his childhood in Tustin, CA.

In 1952, he graduated from the US Naval Academy and then proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp from 19521977.

After retiring from military service, he worked as an engineer, testing military aircraft and weapons systems serviceability.

In 1993, David once again retired and moved to Kerrville, TX where he became very active in the Masonic community. He was an endowed member of each lodge in the 51st Masonic District, an active participant of the quotKerrKlownsquot unit of the Alzafar Shrine and served as Master of the Kerrville and Medina Lodges. He served Grand Lodge as District Deputy Grand Master in 2004.

David is predeceased by his parents.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his wife, Nancy McMillan his 4 children, Michael McMillan, Pamela Erkens, Patricia Kahl and Jeffrey McMillan his brother, D.R. McMillan 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 2PM 1400 Hrs.

The family suggests that donations in his name be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, TX or to the Shrine Burn Center of Galveston.
