Kerrville On December 6, 2011, Heaven became brighter when Darling Briseno Boyd joined the Angels there. Darling passed into the arms of her Lord at Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston after a long and brave battle against cancer.
Darling is survived by her loving parents, C E and Elsa Boyd a devoted brother Louis Briseno stepsister, Hannah Jacoby and family of Midland, TX and stepbrother, Charlie Boyd and his wife Karen and family. She is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Darling was born May 13, 1993, in Kerrville, Texas. Early in her life her love of others and their love for her were evident. She was a cheerleader in middle school. At the Lady of the Hills High School, Darling played basketball and volleyball but cheerleading was her real love. That is no surprise to those who knew and loved her because Darling was a cheerleader in life as well as sports. Even in the almost three years she struggled with her cancer and endured all the surgeries, chemotherapy and other treatments, Darling made everyone who came into contact with her laugh and smile. ors who came to cheer her up, instead were themselves cheered. Darling just had that special way about her.
No one could spend much time with Darling without being aware of her faith and strength. Nurses who treated and cared for her found their lives touched by her. One nurse wrote, quotDarling my job as a nurse is to try and touch lives. But youve touched me, and I will always, always, remember you.quot After her graduation Darling wanted to study medicine specializing in oncology so she could help those like her who had been stricken with cancer.
Within hours of her passing her Facebook page was flooded with posts from the multitude of friends whose lives were touched by her. In one of Darlings last posts she wrote, quotTomorrow will be a better day.quot That statement sums up the essence of our beloved daughter and sister, our brave Darling who loved life so much.
