Curtis Luce Mullen

Curtis Luce Mullen, 59, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly at home in Kerrville, TX on Monday, December 23, 2024. Born in Houston, TX on June 22, 1965, Curtis was the last of five children to Odren and Berneice Mullen.

He grew up in Houston and had a keen interest in cars from a young age, which eventually led him down the path of “life over the road”. Curtis had a one-of-a-kind expertise when it came to specialized freight hauling, mainly heavy machinery.

Curtis was a free spirit, lived life to the edge and never met a stranger. He was known for his humor, loving heart, dare devil attitude and his strong devotion to his family and closest friends. You could count on Curtis to do anything for anyone in need. He was the true definition of “would give his shirt off his back for you”. When he wasn’t behind a windshield, you could find him offshore or bay fishing, riding his Harley, boiling crawfish or entertaining his friends and family with one of his many humorous stories.

Curtis is survived by his son, Mason R. Mullen (Katherine R. Mullen); his grandchildren, Tripp D. Mullen and Jack J. Mullen; his sisters, Janice E. Lang and Robin G. Perry (Marty Perry); sister-in-law, Barbara B. Mullen. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends, all of whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odren Jack Mullen and Berneice L. Mullen; his brothers, Jack C. Mullen and Gregory A. Mullen; his grandparents, Willard and Estelle Luce; and his brother-in-law, James D. Lang.

Curtis was long time member of the Coastal Conservation Association and had an unwavering love for animals, especially his dogs.

A Celebration of Curtis’ life will take place at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate the impression he made on each of their lives. Details regarding the date and location will be shared once arrangements are finalized.

For those wishing to honor Curtis’ memory, donations can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Coastal Conservation Association, or the ASPCA.

Services with integrity, pride, and honor are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home. (830) 895-5111
