Coleen Rosson

KERRVILLE - Coleen Mozelle Snyder Rosson of San Antonio and most recently, of Wylie, Texas passed from this life on Saturday, September 12, 2015 in her daughter's home after having a stroke.

Born on August 31, 1929 to Joe Allen and Katherine (Millican) Snyder in El Paso, Texas, Coleen was a true "Texas Gem." The Snyder family moved to Kerrville where Coleen graduated from Tivy High School.

Coleen married Robert W. Rosson on September 9, 1948 and is survived by her five children, Phyllis Poehlmann, Joe Rosson, Linda Moynahan, Marilyn Acuff, and Brenda Rodgers. She had many grandchildren, and great grandchildren by blood, marriage and most recently, self-adopted great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Jean Dreiss, LaVerne Benton, and JoGayle Rhoades.

She was a politically astute woman, a proud member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Austin's Old 300, and the Former Texas Ranger Association. Coleen was a church pianist, along with being a fun and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife.

Coleen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert W. Rosson; her brother, Wylie Snyder; and her beloved grandson, Jason Brent Rosson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas 78028 with the Rev. Keith Felps officiating..
Interment will follow at Nichols Cemetery, Kerrville, Texas.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family has expressed a desire for memorial contributions to be made in her honor for a camp sponsorship for an underprivileged child, a mission that assists children in need, or to a charity of one's choice.
