Clyde James (Jim) Martin, Jr. age 79, of Kerrville, Texas, peacefully went to be with his Savior Friday evening, April 12, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. Born June 26, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of the late James Clyde Martin and the late Mary Esther DiAnda Rosas.

Jim lived an event-filled life that allowed him the opportunity to travel across much of America and some internationally. He attended White Haven High School in Memphis, Tennessee and Willow Glen High School in San Jose, California. Later, Jim continued his education at Alvin Community College and completed his education at Texas A&M University Engineering Extension Program majoring in Computer Science. He served a brief time in the USMC in San Diego, California, unable to continue service due to health reasons; he began a career in sales. Jim was the owner and operator of Martin Insurance, Houston, Texas for more than 40 years. He enjoyed country music and spent several years, following retirement, involved in the country music entertainment business helping to manage and promote up-and-coming artists including his granddaughter, Elizabeth Price.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Clyde Martin; mother, Mary Esther DiAnda; sister, Sylvia Ludwick; brother Jess Martin; brother, Raymond Rosas; nephew, Jeremy Martin; and niece, Cindy Martin.

He is survived by his children; Danny Martin of Kerrville, Texas, Lisa Newberry (Les) of Kerrville, Texas, Chrisy Price (Ralph) of Kerrville, Texas, Catherine Greene (Christian) of Austin, Texas, Jimmy Martin of Bandera, Texas and foster-daughter Christine Brown of Kerrville, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Shanon Newberry (Dana), Kara Brantley (JD), Amber Newberry, Brittany Smith, Blake Smith, Edward Price, Elizabeth Price, Cameron Greene, Madison Greene, Tabitha Cheney (Josh), Lauren Maldonado (David), and Logan Brown; 3 great-grandchildren, Kinlee Allen, Abigail Brantley, and Sophia Newberry; 5 siblings, Robert Martin of San Antonio, Texas, Celia Lindberg of Panama City, Florida, Richard Rosas (Susan) of San Jose, California, Larry Rosas of San Jose, California, and Gloria Prieto (Martin) of Chandler, Arizona; and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of Peterson Hospital, the doctors, nurses, and staff, and are especially grateful for the palliative and hospice care staff, their dedication and effort was a heartwarming blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him and look forward to someday, once again, being with him in heaven.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas.

Funeral Services for Clyde James Martin will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Kerrville Funeral Home with Sam Ligon officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Shanon Newberry, Blake Smith, Edward Price, JD Brantley, Josh Cheney, and Logan Brown.
