Claire LaVaun Towers Miller, 83, died of pancreatic cancer April 18, 2005 at her home in Kerrville. Mrs. Miller, who lived in Venice, Florida for 28 years, was a native of Olathe, Kansas. Mrs. Miller was a descendant of a 17th century Quaker pioneer, who migrated to the Midwest after the American Revolutionary War. She lived and traveled extensively in the Middle East, Venezuela, the United States and Europe, accompanying her husband in his engineering career. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Henry Alexander Miller of Kerrville Three children: Julia M. Rogers of Silver Spring, Maryland, Catherine M. Carson of Ozona, and Henry A. Miller, II of Austin Four Grandchildren, Julie Lawford of Portage, Michigan, Haley Najar of San Antonio, Amanda Carson of Denton, and Ken Johansen of Arlington, Virginia and Three GreatGrandchildren, Chelsey Najar, Abbey Lawford and Haley Lawford two sisters, Lillian Partis of Ottawa, Kansas and Jan Envall of Albuquerque, New Mexico one brother, Richard Towers of Manhattan, Kansas and one Brotherinlaw, Kenneth Miller of Ventura, California. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Guy Towers her inlaws Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller, one brother, Charles Towers one sister, Louise Nelson and one sisterinlaw and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roberts. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, April 22, 2005 at the Kerrville Funeral Home with Rev. John Fluth officiating.
