INGRAM Christine Braids Miller, 61, of Cedar Park, Texas passed from this life on August 7, 2014 in Ingram, Texas. She was born on May 5, 1953 in Dayton, OH, and was raised by her parents, Robert and Virginia Britt Miller.
Christine grew up in St. Louis, MO. In the 70s, she was an early member of The Farm, an intentional community near Summertown, TN based on the principles of nonviolence and respect for the earth. Christine later lived for several years in the Austin, TX area where she helped establish deli services at Whole Foods Markets across the country.
Braids was also a fixture at the Kerrville Folk Festival on Quiet Valley Ranch for many years. She managed the garden, permaculture, and the Ranch Kitchen, which fed as many as 600 festival staff every day for a month each year. Her year around contributions also included maintenance of the landscape and infrastructure of the Ranch.
Her extended family is comprised of Kerrverts from across the country. She will be celebrated for years to come as the traditions of the community continue.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her two siblings, Maureen Benedict and Dennis Miller four children, Jasmine, Mathew, Patrick, and Atom Miller grandchildren, Devin Batten, Vincent Batten, Mason Sabrsula, Caden Miller, Drake Miller, and Kylie Willson and one great granddaughter, Alexis Batten, along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at
12 PM at 300 Block Pancratz Road, Comfort, TX 78006.
