Charlotte May Luce, at the age of 85, passed from this life on Tuesday February 26, 2019, in Ingram Texas. She was born in Houston Texas, the daughter of Charles and Hazel Milligan, March 1,1933. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Hazel, her brother Phillip Milligan and her beloved son David Ray Luce. She is survived by her brother Thomas Milligan, loving and devoted husband Donald Ray Luce, daughter Dovey Ensey and husband Randy, son John Luce and wife Jeanine, son Joel Luce and wife Jaime, son Steve Luce and wife Donna. She will be missed by her 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many other family members and dear friends.
If there was one word to describe Charlotte, it would be ''consistent''. Everyone who knew her would agree that she was consistent in her love for God, His Word and Church. She was consistent in her care and love for her husband Donald Ray (as she loved to call him). Her consistent care of her children was unsurpassed. Her children rise up today and call her blessed.
She was so consistent in the care of her home. She was the happiest when she had her house cleaned, organized and ready to just enjoy it.
Grandma Luce, or Mawmaw as some Grands called her, was known for her M&M Cookies. When she knew they were coming for a visit, you could count on cookies being made.
Though Charlotte was raised in the big city, she was a country girl at heart. As a carpenter's daughter, home designs fascinated her. She even modeled their Daystar Homeplace after her father and grandfather's homes.
Her love for children started early in Charlotte and Donald's marriage, working at the Children's Home where they had the care of 40 boys. Charlotte loved to teach. She was over many Vacation Bible Schools, Sunday School classes, and ran Children's Church for years.
Her love for the Word was what carried her through her health journey. To encourage herself she started a study of scriptures that lifted her spirit. She compiled these into a book form entitled ''Positive Scriptures from A to Z.''
Her love of creative things took on many forms including planting flowers in her garden, sewing for her home and embroidering. She would often say, ''I have these projects that I want to get done.''
Charlotte loved her family, and her happiest times were those when the family gathered at Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthdays. Charlotte prayed daily for all her family, and her main prayer was that her children and grandchildren would be in ministry working for the Lord. She was a true LADY, and she always carried herself with grace, beauty and elegance. Charlotte will be so missed by her family and friends.
