Charlotte N. Groll, 83, long time resident of Kerr County, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2004 at a local hospital. Mrs. Groll was born December 20, 1920 to Ignatius and Julia Eichert Halleman in Weesatche, TX. She married Louis Otto Groll in 1946, and they moved to Kerrville October 1948, and joined Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Mrs. Groll was an active member of the Registered Nurses Association since 1945. She received her degree at St. Marys Infirmary in Galveston, TX. She and her husband first came to the Hill Country as part of the staff at Camp Mystic for Girls and was there for many years. She joined the night shift as a nurse at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital and worked there for 20 years. She also was a nurse at Hilltop Village for a year. She was active as a volunteer at the Dietert Senior Center, taking blood pressure monthly, and giving Influenza and Pneumonia injections. She also volunteered in the thrift shop at what is now Peterson Hospice and was a strong supporter of the hospice concept. In her spare time she sewed lap robes for the terminally ill and for the residence of local nursing homes. She was preceded in death by her parents four brothers, David, Victor, Roland, and LeeRoy husband, Louis Otto Groll in 1995 and son, Wayne Groll in May 2004. She is survived by daughter, Robbie Johnson and husband Gerald of San Antonio sons, Dennis Groll and wife Judy of West Monroe, LA, and Dale Groll and wife Janie of Kerrville eight grandchildren, Teri Johnson Flores of Kingsville, Lori Johnson Durham of Pflugerville, Hayley and Megan Groll of Kerrville, Lindsey and Matthew Groll of West Monroe, LA, and Peter and Patrick Luff of Austin, two greatgrandchildren, Ashton and Kaeleigh Flores of Kingsville, and sister, Adeline Morisse of San Antonio. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kerrville with Pastor Richard H. Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. ation will be 5:308:00PM, Monday, November 8, 2004 at the Kerrville Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or a hospice of your choice.
