Charles Daniel Posey, 91, of Kerrville, Texas went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2005 at a hospital in San Antonio.Mr. Posey was born July 13, 1914 in Frederick, Maryland to Charles Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Posey. He married Deloris Gibson White Posey in 1956 in Roswell, New Mexico. They were married 49 years until the Lord carried her home on February 17, 2003. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1963 after twenty years of service. Mr. Posey worked for the City of Kerrville water department, and retired after twenty years of employment. He was a dedicated member of the Heart of the Hills Lions Club for 25 years, and supported the Texas Lions Childrens Camp in Kerrville. He also served on the American Red Cross Board of Directors from 19861990, and was past Worshipful Master of the Shallow Masonic Lodge 442. He was a very devoted member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church. He served the community of Kerrville as a leader, and a kind giving man who always was willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by his family, church family and many friends. Papa We Love YouHe is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Simmons of San Antonio, daughter, Delores Graham of York, PA 13 grandchildren Cynthias children, who were affectionately named grandbabies, Jessica Nicole, Charles Vernon, and Raymond Bernard three Godchildren, Danny Frazier, Liz Washington, and Adrian Owens, one nephew, Mr. James Posey, and one greatnephew, Dr. James Posey, and a host of other relatives and friends.Pallbearers will be Kenneth Anderson, Raymond Simmons, Brian Clay, Damon Edmonds, Arnold Smith, Jr., Rodrick Goodlow, and Adrian Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Mount Olive Baptist Church.Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, December 5, 2005 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Kerrville. Interment with full military honors will follow at 2:30 PM, in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. ation will be 57:00 PM, Saturday, December 3, 3005 at Kerrville Funeral Home.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
