Mr. Cecilio E. Lara, 78, of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully on September 4, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Hospital.Mr. Lara was born January 10, 1927 to Jose and Natividad Lara in Kerrville, Texas. He served his country in the US Army from May 1944 to July 1945. He spent his life working with wool in the mohair industry in the Texas Hill Country. He was a hard working man who provided for and loved his family dearly. Mr. Lara is preceded in death by his son, Jesse Lara and sister, Dorothy Landin.He is survived by his wife, Rachel, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 15, 2005 three sons, Cecilio Lara, Jr. of San Antonio, Daniel Lara of San Antonio, and Vincent Lara of Kerrville daughter, Sylvia Ybarra of Boerne nine grandchildren nine greatgrandchildren and two brothers, Cruz Lara and Jack Lara.The family wishes to give special thanks for the support and care given by the staff of the VA Hospice unit.A Rosary is scheduled for 7:00PM, Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the Kerrville Funeral Home with Charles Dominguez officiating and visitation to follow. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM, Thursday, September 8, 2005 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Greg Nevlud officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
