C.C. Armstrong, 85, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2005 at a local care facility.Mr. Armstrong was born June 26, 1919 in Cooper, Texas to parents, Carthel and Lula Mae Armstrong. Graduating high school at Pamper, Texas, he then went on to graduate Magna cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a B.S. Degree in Engineering. He started his career with the Texas Highway Department, then the Corps of Engineers at Galveston, then Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego, CA. After induction into the U.S. Navy serving as a link trainer for the aircraft division, he then went to work for Dow Chemical Company. He first worked in Freeport, TX as head of the Engineering Department, and then moved to Houston where he headed up Engineering and Construction Services. He next transferred to Midland, Michigan where he served under the Board of Directors as the Dow Chemical Company Troubleshooter. When any facility owned by Dow had a problem, C.C. took charge. Retiring from Dow in the late 1970s he moved to Kerrville, TX where he remained active in civil and religious activities.He is survived by his wife Lucy Mae two sons, James and Larry three granddaughters, Laurel, Ingrid, and Carrie two daughtersinlaw, Carol and Karen cousins, Mary Etna McNair and Joan Jennings, and his niece, Sharon Bradberry, along with other relatives.He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Kerrville.
