Catherine Langlinais

BOERNE Catherine OConnor Langlinais of Helotes, TX entered into eternal life Sunday, April 7, 2013. Born in Gretna, LA on January 19, 1923, she grew up in Sanderson,TX.

She attended Santa Rosa Nursing School and became a registered nurse. Catherine served in the U.S. Army as a nurse during WWII in Japan. She returned to San Antonio earning her Bachelors degree from Incarnate Word College. Catherine married the love of her life, Raymond Louis Langlinais on April 19, 1952. They moved to Helotes in 1959 where they raised their ten children.

Over the years she volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Helotes Fire Department Ladies Brigade, was a member of the VFW Post 7108 where she served as Post Commander for two years. Member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Helotes for over 50 years, was in the Altar Society, and was a CYO sponsor. She was a caring nurse to the community and a mom to many more than her own.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, James A. OConnor.

Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her children, Mary Chris Williams, Steve Yvonne Langlinais, Lynette Paul English, Lorraine Larry Popp, Denise Jenschke, Gary Kim Langlinais, Jeanine Craig Leeder, Kathleen George Rater, Pat Beverly Langlinais, and Joann Cal Chapman 24 grandchildren and three great grandsons sisterinlaw, Rosie Marie OConnor brotherinlaw, James Teeny Margaret Langlinais numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and so many adopted kids.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:30 PM, on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at St. Peter the Apostle, Boerne, TX. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, TX at 10 AM, on Friday, April 12, 2013. Inurnment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery will follow at a later date.
If friends so desire, memorials may be ed to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
