Kerrville Catherine Louise Innes Anderson died November 25, 2010, in Kerrville, Texas. She was born to John H. and Ida Juliet Innes in Austin, Texas, on July 18, 1920.
She graduated from Austin High School and the University of Texas where she received her masters degree in education. She also attended Gulf Park College in Gulfport, Mississippi. Her desire to travel began by serving in the United States Civil Service in Erding, Germany, where she met Air Force Lt. James Robert Anderson of Chicago, Illinois. They married in 1952 and later adopted a baby daughter. They were stationed in various countries and the US finally settling and retiring in San Antonio, Texas.
Catherine was a dedicated teacher for special needs children. She would often visit their families and deliver food and clothes. Her granddaughter, Lisa, was the joy of her life. On the day Lisa was born, Catherine was so excited, she left for the hospital, forgetting the water still running in the sink and ultimately flooding the entire house. She became quotNanaquot that day and forever after. Catherine and Jim enjoyed travelling to many countries after their retirement.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim quotPapaquot in 2007.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy and husband, Jim. Granddaughter, Lisa and husband, Kelly, greatgranddaughters, Kelsey and Kourtney, grandson, Keller, and many other relatives along with a host of loving friends and neighbors.
Burial is on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 2:45 PM at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas withg Rev. Rob Lohmeyer officiating.
