Carroll Roy Weathers, 93, of Kerrville entered his heavenly home on April 3, 2022 in Kerrville.
Carroll was born on June 14, 1928 in Maysfield, TX. He was the 8th of 9 children born to Harvey and Ollie Weathers. He grew up in Calvert, TX until he enlisted in the Navy in 1946. He honorably served during WWII, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired after 22 years of service dedicated to his country in June 1971 with the rank of Senior Chief Boatswains Mate.
Carroll married his sweetheart Mildred “Millie” Shelton in 1953, and raised their 2 sons, Paul and Michael while stationed in numerous places throughout the world. Upon his retirement, they moved back home to Texas, where he continued to live out his life.
Carroll and Millie enjoyed many wonderful years travelling in RVs throughout the country, making friends along the way, as he never knew a stranger. He was a jokester with a large sense of humor, and always enjoyed making people laugh. He loved to play guitar and sing. He and Millie sang together in a gospel trio, with his sister Edith, for many years.
Carroll and Millie were blessed with 5 grandchildren and 3 great0grandchildren. They settled in Kerrville almost 9 years ago, and have made many more new friends. They loved attending their community’s church in River Front Village.
Carroll loved his Lord Jesus and would take any opportunity to bless others with the testimony of his salvation, through his Savior, and to witness for the gospel.
His last cherished words with his wife were, “I love you” with her reply “More”.
Carroll is preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife of 68 years, Mildred “Millie” Weathers; son, Paul Weathers ; son, Michael and wife Suzanne Weathers; grandsons, Eric and wife Kristine Weathers, Shane and wife Amanda Weathers; Jeffrey Weathers, Craig Weathers; granddaughter, Caitlin Weathers; and 3 great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Blake, and William.
