Kerrville Carroll L. Prestidge, 80, of Kerrville, passed from this life at his home on May 23, 2011.
Born in Shamrock, TX on March 14, 1931, he was the son of Cecil Carroll and Anna Lee Adkitson Prestidge.
Mr. Prestidge served in the US Army in Korea.
After he served his country, he worked as a heavy equipment operator, something he enjoyed doing.
He met his wife, Leonore quotLoniquot Graser Prestidge, on January 27, 2008 and were married on March 8, 2008, playing his harmonica, which, according to Loni, quotsealed the deal with herquot.
Music was his life, playing many instruments, including guitar, banjo, keyboard, mandolin, harmonica and more. His alltime favorite was the harmonica, which he carried in his breast pocket at all times, quotJust in case someone asked him to playquot.
He played harmonica for the Point Theater in Ingram for several plays, such as quotSmoke on the Mountainquot and Sanders Family Christmasquot. He claimed that his talent in playing the harmonica was a God given thing, given to him overnight. He enjoyed playing at many area churches and was a front row event at his home church, Sunrise Baptist Church in Kerrville. His last song he played at church was quotThis World Is Not My Homequot.
As a tribute to his playing the harmonica, his wife, Loni, started placing it on You Tube at quotlovemyharmonicamanquot.
Mr. Prestidge , being a wonderful poet, had received awards for his poetry also, and had a couple books published of quotAlmost Poemsquot, where he wrote some funny as well as some serious poems.

A celebration of his life will be held at Sunrise Baptist Church, Kerrville on Wednesday, May 25, 2010 at 6:30PM.
