Carolyn Ferguson

Carolyn Cookie Cook Gipson Ferguson, 56, of Kerrville went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2002 at a local hospital. She was born in Ballinger, Texas to Clifford and Norma Cook on December 24, 1945.Carolyn grew up in Ballinger, Texas where she was very active in her school and the community. She married Beck Gipson in 1967, and graduated from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas with a degree in Education in 1972. Ms. Gipson Ferguson has been a resident of Kerrville since 1973, and an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. As a lifelong housewife and mother, Carolyn raised two sons through challenging and difficult times. She dearly loved her sons, and would do anything for them and their wellbeing. She assumed the Directorship of Zion Lutheran Church Childrens Center many years ago, and was instrumental in its development and existence as it is today. She was a very strong willed woman who stood by her beliefs.Carolyn married Frank D. Ferguson in January of 2002 in Kerrville, Texas.She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Loyal Clifford and Norma Reagan Cook, and a son, Tom Gipson.Ms. Gipson Ferguson is survived by her husband, Frank son, Ben Gipson of Kerrville several cousins and many friends and neighbors whom she considers her extended family.Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church, with Interment following in Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 PM, Friday, September 13, 2002 at Kerrville Funeral Home. Dress as you feel most comfortable.Memorials may be made in Carolyns memory to the Zion Lutheran Church Piano Fund, 624 Barnett, Kerrville, Texas 78028Arrangements are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
