Carol Jo Ann Womble was born in July 1946 and passed away on November 9, 2019.
She grew up on a farm in Kansas with her parents and sister, graduating high school from a one-room schoolhouse. She attended St. John's College and later went on to Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. A teacher for over 35 years, Carol's legacy will live on forever in her students. Carol had incredible faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her faith led her to inspire, comfort and lead, both within the church community through her work with Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Stephen's Ministry and English Speaking classes and out of it through her other volunteering and social activities.
As part of a military family, Carol was very passionate about helping veterans and volunteered at the Brevard County Veterans Memorial Center in Merritt Island, Florida. Carol also loved to sew and was a part of several sewing and quilting groups. An adventurous spirit, Carol never missed an opportunity to fly all over the country to visit her children, her sister and best friend Susan and other family and friends.
Her children Mary French, Deborah Hoover, Peter Womble and Paula Beck invite you to share in celebrating their mom's life on Friday, January 3rd at 3pm at the United Methodist Church in Bandera, Texas. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes any memorials to go to Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog Ministry at https://www.lutheranchurchcharities.org/give-lcc-k-9.html
Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kerrville Funeral Home (830) 895-5111.
