Carl Hansen

KERRVILLE Carl Reuben Hansen, 94, passed from this life on Sunday, October 28, 2012 in Kerrville TX at the South Texas Veterans Administration hospital. Mr. Hansen was born In Eau Claire, WI on February 9, 1918 to Carl Hansen of Denmark and Clara Marie Johnson Hansen of Fairchild, WI.

He married Virginia Mae McLaughlin in December of 1948 in Stillwater, MN. Mr. Hansen was a member of Masonic Lodge 347, and the Past Commander of VFW posts 307 and 7232. He owned Hansens Upholstery in Eau Claire, Wisconsin as well as working for the Career Development Center there for more than ten years. He was in the last of the Wisconsin Cavalry and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Attu. Likewise, he served in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves. In his free time, Mr. Hansen enjoyed golf, bowling, and fishing.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Virginia Hansen two brothers, Donald and Raymond a son, Bill Hansen and two grandsons, Sean and James Mercer.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his three children, Sandra Mercer, Karen Jackson, and Timothy Hansen 14 grandchildren 23 greatgrandchildren 3 greatgreatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.

Services with Military Honors will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX with Bro. James Ennis officiating..
