Kerrville Bryan W. Dwyer, 77, of Kerrville, TX went to his home in Heaven on June 26, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 8, 1929 in Shamrock, OK.Bryan and his family moved to Odessa, TX in 1945 from Cushing, OK where he attended school until October 1946 when he enlisted in the United States Army a few days before his 16th birthday. He took his basic training at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX and was stationed in Sindi, Japan with the Corp of Engineers for 16 months. Upon his return to the United States he received his honorable discharge and he returned to Odessa to resume his schooling at Odessa High School.He met his future wife, Jean Johnston while in school and they were married April 7, 1950 in Yuma, AR. Bryan was a journeyman electrician by trade for many years before going to work for the City of Odessa in 1970 where he was a municipal inspector with the Planning Zoning Department until his retirement on December 31, 1989. Bryan and Jean moved to Kerrville to enjoy the beauty of the Texas Hill Country and enjoy their retirement years in February 1990. They were blessed with three sons who made them both very proud.Bryan had many hobbies, he raised parakeets, cockatiels amnd various varieties of tropical fish. He loved gardening and raised Orchards and African Violets. His favorite hobby was Model Railroading which he continued with after moving to Kerrville. He built a large layout in his home in Odessa and added a room on to their home in Kerrville for a layout as well, where he ran both HO N scale. Bryan was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.Surviving Bryan are his wife of 57 years, Jean J. Dwyer of Kerrville, TX sons, Cary Dwyer and wife Sharon of Cairo, Egypt, Mark B. Dwyer of San Antonio, TX, Darvin W. Dwyer of Houston, TX grandchildren Daniel Dwyer and Nathan Dwyer of Cairo, Egypt, Brandon, Jordan and Lauren Dwyer all of San Antonio, TX, Michael and Mathew Dwyer of Odessa, TX, Brittney Taylor of Austin, TX one great grandson and a cousin Stanley White of Drumright, OK along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 29, 2007 in the Cailloux Chapel Mausoleum at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX with Rev. Ted Hinton officiating. Open visitation will be held Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Kerrville Funeral Home.In lieu of floral tributes, memorials can be sent to the Trinity Baptist Church of Kerrville or to Sid Peterson Hospice.
