Kerrville Bonnie Maude LeMeilleur Kershner, 87, of Odessa, Texas, and recent resident of a local nursing home, passed from this life on Thursday, January 18, 2007. She was born on February 8, 1919, in San Antonio, Texas, to Bonnie and Scott LeMeilleur, the fourth child and only daughter in a family of six children. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, she moved with her family to West Texas where she met and married Orville Kershner on December 25, 1938. She was a homemaker and a member of the Crescent Park Baptist Church in Odessa.She was preceded in death by her parents, her five brothers, her husband Orville Kershner, son Thomas Stephen Kershner, and grandson Dean Kershner. She is survived by her sons, James Dean Kershner of Odessa, Texas, and John Timothy Kershner of Longview, Texas, granddaughters Timlico and Christie, great grandchildren, sistersinlaw, Louise LeMeilleur and Theda LeMeilleur, both of Kerrville, Texas, and numerous other family members.Bonnie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and that commitment was reflected throughout her long life. She attracted friends everywhere and was always thoughtful and generous with everyone. She will be remembered for many things, including her good cooking, laughter and sweet Christian spirit. One of the last things she said was We sure had fun She leaves her legion of friends and extended large family with so many joyful memories and a confidence that, in Gods time, she will welcome each of them in her heavenly place.Funeral Services in Kerrville will be held at 6 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in the Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Frankie Enloe, pastor of Turtle Creek Community Church. Funeral Services in Odessa will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2007 in the Chapel of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Enloe officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
