Junction Bobby H. Etchison, 81, of Kerrville and Junction, passed from this life at his home in Junction on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

Born on April 5, 1929 in McAllen, he was the son of Rio Grande Valley pioneers Horace and Evelyn Etchison.

A graduate of McAllen High School, Class of 1946, he attended Baylor University. He served in the US Air Force serving in Okinawa.

Most of his working career he was associated with the familyowned McAllen Fruit and Vegetable Co. and the McAllen Cotton Gin. He was also associated with the Pearl Distributing Company. Mr. Etchison ventured out on his own and owned the Valley Armature and Electric Company, until he retired.

While in McAllen he was a or of the First National Bank of McAllen and was past President of the McAllen JCs.

A true Christian, he was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church of McAllen and when he moved to Kerrville in the mid 1990s, transferred to St. Peters Episcopal Church, serving on the Vestry as Sr. Warden. He was also involved in St. Peters Day School.

He is predeceased by his parents.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Willavae Willie Etchison his daughter, Susan Etchison Wambsganss and her husband, Mike and their children, Jeffery and Clee his daughter, Sheryl Etchison Yancy and her children, Jesse, Bret and Payton his daughter, Sandra Etchison Noland and her husband, Mark, and their children, Brandon, Colton, Mark II, Macy and Matthew his son, Bobby H. Etchison, Jr his sister, Ann Etchison Laughlin and her husband, Jim, and their children Brad, Lynn and Dana his sister, Sue Etchison Meek and her children, Tracy and Christy and many other great nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of his life will be held at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Kerrville, on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 2:00PM, with Father Tom Murray as celebrant. A reception will follow at Tucker Hall.

The family suggests that donations in his name be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church or to St. Peters Day School 320 St. Peters St., Kerrville, TX 78028 or a charity of ones choice.
